Bollywood starlet Monica Bedi's journey on "Bigg Boss" was cut short with her eviction from the reality
show Friday.
Monica, who was extradited along with gangster Abu Salem from Portugal in 2005 and lodged in jail in a
fake passport case, participated on the show to "start life afresh".
After being voted out, Monica said, "I would like to thank god for keeping me in the house till at least
three weeks and giving me a chance to come back after all what I have been through (in life)."
Monica told show host Shilpa Shetty, "I fear that my intention (to make a comeback) has not been
fulfilled." "We were on camera for 24 hours, but out of that 40-45 minute footage was shown everyday,
thus I fear that my intention not fulfilled."
Shilpa wished her, "I hope you see a different side to life now."
In one of the initial episodes of the show, that kick started on channel Colors Aug 17, Monica had said: "I
am here to change the image that the media has made in the public about me. I want them to know the
real Monica. I am not as bad as people think I am. And I want to do it more for my parents more than for
myself."
Monica has had a pleasant time on the show where she mixed up with the housemates well, helped
everyone with the household chores and took active part in the weekly assignments.
On Monday's episode, five house members nominated Monica (for being evicted) along with Rahul
Mahajan, son of late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan.
Though Rahul was noticed making romantic advances towards Monica on several occasions, Monica
used to walk away to avoid "unnecessary speculation in the media".
She has kept a low profile on the show except when item girl Sambhavana Seth irked her to argue on
grounds of scheming against few house-members. She was also warned by "Bigg Boss" to avoid
removing her mic while talking to other inmates.
Monica had entered the "Bigg Boss" house along with 13 other participants, mostly celebrities. The
participants are to spend three months closeted in a house sans any communication with the outside
world. The winner of the show gets to walk away with a cash prize of Rs.750,000.
Monica has acted in about a dozen films like "Pyaar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat", "Jaanam Samjha Karo",
"Kaala Samrajya", "Tirchhi Topiwale" and 'Jodi No.1".
