And with what Vashu thinks is good reason.
"We needed large stretches of greenery and an idyllic farmhouse to shoot the entire film. After hunting around for ages we couldn't find a place that was spacious enough.
Both David Dhawan and I decided to completely change the venue rather than compromise, " explains Vashu from Johannesberg where his son's film Kal Kissne Dekha starts shooting from Wednesday.
Art director Samir Chanda was summoned for an emergency meeting.
Says Vashu, "I contacted a friend in Delhi who has a huge empty green stretch of land on Delhi. He kindly lent the space for our shooting. Samir has built the most fabulous farm house on that stretch.
It's exactly what David and I needed. We're ready to shoot from the 19th June. 19 is a very lucky date for me. It also happens to be my birth date."
So has this huge geographical change in the shooting of the film affected the schedule?
"Not at all! We were in fact supposed to start shooting in London from the 21st. Now we start two days earlier. And the venue is more authentic now. We were going to show London as Delhi. We'll now show the location to be what it is."
