Says the film's executive producer and the CEO of Planman Motion Pictures, "This a truly sudden and unexpected development. I admit it hits us like a bolt from the blue."
Planman seems unsure of its next step. And if the picture doesn't improve in a couple of days, Mumbai might go without the release of Last Lear.
Says Shubho, "Mr Bachchan is on a flight back from Paris. But we aren't really waiting for him to take a call. It all depends on the developments in the next few days. We had planned a 100-print release in major cities only.
In the second week we planned to increase the number of prints. Now of course we don't know what will happen.
We might decide to leave Mumbai out of the release which would be a big blow for us. But we're definitely going ahead with the release on Friday."
Shubho adds, "To give in to this kind of thing would set a very wrong precedent. Today it's the Bachchans and our film starring one of them. Tomorrow it could be someone else being targeted for the flimsiest of reasons. No way are we stopping the release."
