Deepa Mehta, Gurinder Chadha to attend Chandigarh film fest

Well-known directors like Dev Anand, Deepa Mehta, Tanuja Chandra and Gurinder Chadha are expected to gather here in February 2009 for the third Chandigarh International Film Festival.

"This time the theme of the festival is contribution of women to direction, acting, writing, music, choreographing and designing," said a spokesperson.

The four day festival will start Feb 5 and other directors like N. Chandra, Meghna Gulzar and Nandita Das will also attend it.

"Keeping the theme of the festival in mind, we will showcase films of women directors and it will be the special feature of the festival," said the spokesperson.

The movies will be screened at Tagore Theatre in Sector 18, Government Museum and Art Gallery in Sector 10 and other cinema halls of the city.

Chandigarh's tourism department is organising the festival in collaboration with Society for Tourism and Entertainment Promotion (STEP).
