After his performance as Babu in Rajat Mukherjee`s `Road`, many are being forced to ask: what is wrong with Manoj Bajpai? Why on earth does this talented actor get so few opportunities in an industry where there is such an obvious lack of acting skills? The answer has two parts, the first of which most know already. After he got a much needed break in `Satya` following years of struggle, Manoj was guilty of becoming far too choosy. He made mistakes while choosing roles, and ended up working for fiascos like `Aks` just because he had an opportunity to act with his childhood idol Amitabh Bachchan.

But more than that, he has been guilty of rubbing people the wrong way. A certain star who is also from New Delhi is said to have to have refused to act with him mainly because Manoj not only shared an uncomfortable relationship with him but also stated indirectly that the former did not help him although he could have. Such an undiplomatic statement did not escape the superstar`s ears after which the battlelines were clearly drawn. And, this despite the fact that although Manoj was a fine actor, he was no Hrithik Roshan!

Now that he has become a seasoned insider, one hopes that Manoj tries to find a way so that he can end up getting some meaty roles in big banners. Most of his work has been confined to the Ram Gopal Varma camp, and while there is no denying that Varma is a fine director, Manoj could do with more and more for sure.
