It was a real stunt and no it wasn't for any movie. Though Sonu was in Malaysia to shoot for UTV Motion Picture's Dhoondhte Reh Jaaoge, the handsome hunk was shopping at a mall when this incident happened.
It so happened that a woman was queuing up for the escalaltor with her kid in tow. When her turn came, she stepped on but unfortunately the kid could not keep up with the mother.
As the escalator moved, the kid was about to fall, when within a fraction of second Sonu literally jumped up to the escalator and got hold of the child.
Sonu says, "It was just an reflex action to save the kid, I think. I mean, saving the kid was what came to my mind first and I'm glad I could act in such a jiffy. I didn't even realize that I was doing a stunt in real life.
Maybe because my instincts said it was important to save the child and nothing else. I was not even aware that how I did the stunt." That's what heroism is really about, we guess. Sonu must have done hundreds of stunts in reel life but this one act of bravery is worth a lot more!
