Saucy Shilpa Shetty has been accused of embezzlement of money by the producer of a Bengali film she was supposed to act in.Association of Motion Pictures and Television Program Producers (AMPTPP) is reported to have served Shilpa a notice for not returning an advance of Rs 5.75 lakh the Bengali producer alleges to have paid her at the time of signing.

In return for the signing amount Shilpa had agreed to act in Bengali film Rakteaagun, but the project was shelved even before the shooting of the film began. Film's producer Dhanuka Brothers allege that when they revived the project later on, Shilpa did not show any interest in the film and didn't even return the signing amount.However, Shilpa is at loggerheads with the producer over the amount she took while signing the movie.

According to the version she gave to AMPTPP, she was paid merely Rs 75,000, which was used in costumes and accessories. Shilpa has denied having been paid the signing amount of Rs 5 lakh. The matter is currently under investigation with AMPTPP.
