Another big difference was that the movie in the end showed the triumph of good over evil and turned out to be a hit unlike 'Peter Proud' which got mixed responses from critics upon its release.
Now all eyes are set on the 'Karz' remake and it has been revealed that there's a new twist in the tale.
And the so called big twist is that Himesh's girlfriend Tina played by debutant Shweta Kumar turns out to be Kamini's (Urmila Matondkar)foster daughter. So he's in love with the daughter of his wife in his previous birth (as Dino Morea)!
Now that didn't happen in the original. Raj Kiran was shown to be Simi Garewal's hubby who's born as Rishi Kapoor in his next birth. He falls in love with Tina Munim who wasn't related to Simi. Rishi come back to take revenge on Simi for killing him in his first birth for his estate and money.
But this was always the case in the Hollywood original.
In the movie Dr. Peter Proud (Michael Sarrazin) is a professor at a California college who has recurring dreams about a past life and when he finds the arch and the church that have been dominating his dreams somewhere in Massachusetts, he travels to the place.
It is here that Peter starts to see familiar sights from his dreams, such as the bridge, the church, the Puritan statue, and others. Continuing his search, he finally locates Marcia, the mystery woman from his nightmares (Margot Kidder), and befriends her daughter Ann (Jennifer O'Neill) at a local country club.
Marcia is suspicious of Peter, and ponders why he has come to see her, and how he knows so much about her life. Ann and Peter eventually fall in love, to Marcia's disapproval, as she starts to realise that Peter Proud is the reincarnation of her deceased husband.
Now isn't that very similar to 'Karzzzz'?
Looks like the makers decided to get more 'inspired' to keep things a little different in 'KARZZZZ'! Wish they had admitted to it blatantly too!
