He is a living legend. Son of poet Harivanshrai Bachchan and the sophisticated Teji Bachchan, Amitabh never imagined that acting, what he considered as his hobby, would one day be his tryst with fame and immortality. With his 60th birthday, considered to be a very significant milestone in an individual`s life according to Hindu philosophy, just a few days away, the Bachchan family has upswing preparations to honour the man of the house and the deity of millions.
Wife and actress Jaya Bachchan will be presenting hubby dear with a book, To B Or Not To Be, written by journalist Khalid Mohammed. Also the members of the Amitabh Bachchan Fan`s Association based in Kolkata will be presenting him with a 6-ft statue of Lord Bajrangbali made of paddy and spices, a wax-model of the star in a KBC posture, along with a greeting card with the names of the popular characters he played, Vijay, Iqbal and Anthony. A 6 ft 3 inch cake will also be cut in honour of the occassion.
Yet amidst all this party pitch, the devoted son Amitabh says that the ill-health of his parents is something which disturbs him. We appreciate your sentiments Sir!
