Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor are all set to figure in a series of television ads for Airtel's Magic brand of pre-paid cards. The first of the four ads is a 50-second commercial that shows Shahrukh and Kareena as two strangers travelling in a bus. The bus breaks down and Kareena frets about getting late for her show.
It is then that SRK comes to her rescue. He buys a pre-paid card from an Airtel Magic vender, makes a call and then asks Kareena to close her eyes. When she opens her eyes there is a car coming to receive her. The ad, made by Percept Advertising, will go on air on October 14.
Airtel's last ad featured music wizard A. R. Rahman travelling throughout the world and recording his music live through cellphone. The new ad is a part of Airtel's latest market expansion strategy aimed at banking on the popularity of SRK and Kareena among the cine fans.
