She has been part of Indian cinema for 10 years, but Nobel laureate Amartya Sen's daughter, actress Nandana Sen, has never done a Bengali film before even though she "thinks and dreams" in the language!

The film "Kaler Rakhal" is directed by National award winner Shekhar Das and will be shot in Santiniketan.

"I play this Indian student from Germany making a film. It's my first Bengali film. And I'm very excited because I think, dream, fight and sing in Bengali."

Coincidentally, two other Mumbai-based actresses, Bipasha Basu and Riya Sen, too have just completed their first Bengali films, both with director Rituparno Ghosh.

Another role that has Nandana all revved up about is the one in "Zindabad". "It'a political satire where I play a bright-eyed reporter who changes during the course of a day from a dreamer to a realist."
