Rohit Shetty's Golmaal (2006) sequel has opened with a BANG! It was expected in the Bollywood trade circles that this multi star cast film would open big all over after its first promos were unleashed.

The collections all over India have been excellent for the morning shows and afternoon collections are showing full or near full houses. Golmaal Returns being a sequel to a successful film (excellent after release on satellite and home video) and today being a holiday has all benefited the film immensely.

What is surprising however is both the grand Diwali releases, Golmaal Returns and Fashion have not had a full blown multiplex release which generally any Diwali release gets.

The reason attributed to this is the fact that the distributors of Heroes and Roadside Romeo had a clause in their contracts that the films will be kept on a decent amount of shows until their week one is over.

Golmaal Returns is showing on 6-8 shows at multiplexes today while Fashion is on 5-6 shows. The shows are expected to go to 10-14 for Golmaal Returns and 8-10 for Fashion from Friday onwards.
