Confirms Rahul Dholakia, who has waited for quite a while before getting his actors together to shoot for the film, "Yes, Sanjay Dutt does play an assassin in 'Lamhaa'. The film is quite contemporary though being different from many other films in the recent past which have been based in Kashmir."
'Yahaan', 'Mission Kashmir', 'Sheen' and of course 'Roja' are some of the films that instantly come to one's mind. "But none of them talked about an assassin.
However, Sanjay Dutt plays one here. Beyond that let me not divulge much about the plot of the film", says Dholakia who received quite some critical acclaim for his piece of art 'Parzania'.
Vipin Sharma, who played the role of Darsheel Safary's father in 'Taare Zameen Par' and has a pivotal role to enact in 'Lamhaa' is adds, "I play an important role of an army officer who is closest to Sanju.
I am shown to be connected to the troubles in the region for the last 20 years and ultimately have to pay the price for my integrity. I can't wait for Rahul to call the shots for 'Lamhaa' soon."
Other than 'Lamhaa', Rahul has already shot his short story 'Bombay Mumbai Same Shit' for 'Mumbai Cutting'. The film which stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Neetu Chandra in Rahul's episode has been making the round of festival circuits and would be seeing a theatrical release early 2009. - Joginder Tuteja
