In the world of presumptuous people, first time director Tarun Mansukhani is honest enough to admit that his own wife wasn't too sure about his directorial capacity.

Married for 3 years, Tarun has known the love of his life for close to 12 years. Of course she had seen him working hard for last one decade in the capacity of an Assistant Director but she understood that making a movie all by yourself is a different ball game altogether.

This is why she held her breath as she watched the final cut of Dostana for the first time with her husband.

"Oh, my wife is my staunchest critic and I had to seek her approval before anyone else to guess the verdict on Dostana. Thankfully when she watched it, she was all taken aback with what she saw. Perhaps she wasn't quite confident about the skill her husband comes with", laughs the young filmmaker who is just 32 years old.

"But in essence I am even younger. I could well pass off as an 18 year old in my attitude when it comes to living life. Sometimes I feel like driving rash and am really childish in my behavior. Perhaps Dostana would now make me more mature though I have to see how it happens, considering my next is an animation film", smiles Tarun.

First a love story and then an animation film - Has he decided the world of feel good cinema as the chosen genre? "No, it isn't as if I picked up a particular genre or I am not open to exploring another subject.

Tomorrow it could be a horror flick or a thriller drama. See, I didn't really plan out how my debut film would look like. Dostana happened and I am happy that it has been accepted. Tomorrow I may experiment and make something different.

I may fall, I would get up again but I wouldn't stop fighting", Tarun's mouths the famous last words.

It appears that taking feedback from your loved ones and trusting it to be the Gospel's truth is fast emerging as trend amongst Bollywood folks.

While John truly relied upon Bipasha to pass her judgement on Dostana (to his relief Bipasha truly loved the film and complimented him for the drool value that his physique generated and the camaraderie that he shared with Abhishek), Himesh Reshammiya too was super confident about Karzzzz the moment his son gave the film a Thumbs Up.
