Till Sunday, while the whole of India couldn't stop rolling with laughter looking at the antics of two on-screen 'self-confessed' homosexuals (read Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham) in Kjo's Dostana, the Pakistanis
were having it otherwise, after the Lahore High Court imposed a ban on the film stating that it has some highly objectionable "gay content", following a writ petition filed by Khuram Khan, who maintained that Dostana
promoted gay marriage which is prohibited in Islam and all other religions.
But from today, the Pakistanis too can join their Indian counterparts, with the Lahore High Court lifting the ban and giving a go-ahead for provisional screening in four cinemas of Lahore.
All of this came with a
clause that the countrywide screening would be allowed only after they get the final and total consent from the Pakistan Film Censor Board.
Hopefully, this Dostana will eventually spread its wings to both the countries as well.
