A source reveals, "A Wednesday was ready long back but was not finding the right price for distribution. But finally Rizvi managed to get the backing of big corporate producer, UTV.
The film with a novel theme was a slow starter but because it appealed to the audience and critics alike, its collections picked up and the film went on to do great business, especially in the metro cities. Now after its good run at the cinemas, it was time to settle the accounts, problems erupted."
"What pissed off Anjum Rizvi was the statement made by UTV that not much was due to him as crores of rupees had been spent on the film's post-release promotion and marketing.
Till then, all along, Rizvi had been under the impression that he would get a handsome amount of money as his share of profit from the corporate house. But his dream, it seems, has been shattered." adds the source.
An industry observer feels, "Small producers are always dictated terms by big corporate production houses and they have no option but obey them for their survival."
