Ronit Roy made his debut many years back in Bollywood but failed to make it big. After a series of flops he diverted attention to television and went on to become on of TV industry's biggest stars.
But now he
is all set on a comeback in Bollywood with a bang! He is re-debuting in Bollywood with a Nari Hira production, Shingora. The film will be directed by Jagmohan Mundhra.
A lot of big production houses were interested in getting Ronit to sign on their projects' dotted line but he kept saying NO to them.
The main reason was that he wasn't getting excited by any of the scripts
offered. The film that he has now signed, is based on the 1986 cult classic Video Film, Shingora produced under Nari Hira's banner Hiba Films that time.
It starred Persis Khambatta, Aditya Pancholi,
Ardhendu Bose, Anju Mahendru and Neeta Puri. It is best remembered for Persis Khambatta's dare bare act.
For the remake now, Producer Nari Hira is being tight-lipped about the female lead and the young actor who is going to play the part that made Aditya Pancholi a star.
"Cast and credits are still being finalized;
we rather not say anything at this stage. Jagmohan Mundhra is in Los Angeles and will be back next week for pre-production planning, " says Hira.
Reliable sources however confirmed that among others
Shreyas Talpade, Pratik Babbar and Vatsal Seth are being considered for the young lead. But the big question mark is who will play Persis Khambatta's role?
Probably it could be Sarita Choudhary of
Mississipi Masala fame or Laila Rouass, ex Channel V VJ and popular UK television series Footballer's Wives starlet.
