Television actress Akanksha Gilani who is currently busy shooting for a serial for Sahara One has been burning the mid-night oil 'learning to be a ghost'.

She has watched several movies like "The Entity", The Omen (all sequels) and others to understand how a ghost's character would have to be portrayed on screen.

She even visited certain sites and locations in and around Mumbai, Thane, Ambernath, Vasai, Virar and in other parts of Maharashtra that are supposedly haunted to get a feel of the "energy" and ambience of the place.

According to Akanksha, when she visited the Vasai Fort, and the churches in the Vasai Fort area, where several hundred Maratha soldiers lost their lives in fierce battles against the Portuguese, she could 'actually' feel the 'presence' of abnormal energy in the place, particularly in the late evening as darkness fell.

. "After reading about the 'energy' associated with 'spirits', I could perceive some para normal activity in the area. I don't know if it was my mind playing tricks on me and immediately got out of the place, " says the cute Akanksha.

While Akanksha is busy shooting in Baroda, her media manager, said that the bubbly and lively Akanksha plays a "spirit" called Manyata in the serial.

"She has read almost every book she could lay her hands on which deals with the occult and with spirits. With all the research she has done, Akanksha is almost an expert on creatures that exist on the para normal plane, " said media manager, adding that he was shocked when Akansha asked him if he could take her some place where 'ghosts' existed.

The serial Kaisi Lagi Lagaan is produced by CineVista for Sahara One. We wonder if Akanksha has watched Phoonk. Given the extensive background training Akanksha has had, Ram Gopal Verma should consider her for one of his terror flicks.
