He's said, "I've named it Happy Teacher's Day and it's a story tracing the relationship between a professor and his student. When I read about bipolar disorder, I wanted to make a film on it. Not too much is known about this psychological disorder. And it can go undetected for a lifetime because the mood swings are often taken to be just over-moodiness in an individual."
Must say the RGV protégée has chosen a unique subject because bipolar disorder is a psychological disorder which tends to go unexplored in individuals.
The disease is characterized by cyclic mood swings. The patient oscillates between extreme sadness and happiness. These episodes are usually separated by periods of 'normal' mood but in some cases these two extreme moods may rapidly alternate.
The shooting for this film is likely to start in January.
Farooq Shaikh has been signed on to play the professor.
The director has auditioned a number of actors for the role of the student but no actor has been finalized as yet.
We'll have to wait and watch to see how sensitively he treats this subject!
