Feisty Rani Mukherji will be seen sashaying the catwalk in Shahrukh Khan's next home production, to be directed by Aziz Mirza. It is a role that was meant for the real-life Miss World, Aishwarya Rai.

However, the much-talked about ‘Salman episode' – in which the shirt-doffing Khan insulted SRK and the film's director – compelled Ash to bow out of the project. In her place Rani Mukherji was signed to play the film's heroine. While it was initially speculated that Rani would play only a marginal part in the film, it is now learnt that the spunky actress will actually be playing the leading role of a Miss World crown holder. The male lead in the film is being played by SRK.

It may be mentioned that Mirza had earlier thought of signing former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen for the role but had dumped the idea sooner.
