Randeep Hooda (of 'D' and 'Risk' fame) suffered a severe injury on his ankle when he was thrown off his horse during a Polo match, recently.

The actor's team was facing stiff competition from their opponents during a Polo event at the Mahalaxmi Race Course, when Randeep attempted to hit a goal. But as he swung into action, his horse slipped and the actor was flung into the air, landing on one leg, and breaking his ankle.

He was rushed to the Breach Candy Hospital where doctors detected a deep fracture. Randeep will now have to be operated and be out of action for more than a month. "The operation would happen in the beginning of next week, " confirmed his publicist Dale Bhagwagar. "The doctors have advised him six weeks rest, " he added.

Just for the record, Randeep is the only Bollywood actor who regularly participates in Polo matches and equestrian events. He even won awards at two equestrian events in Mumbai as well as Delhi sometime ago, where he participated along with riders from the Indian Army.

The actor has three films lined up for release in the next two months. There is Ketan Mehta's lavish bilingual 'Rang Rasiya' aka 'Colours of Passion' (English), where Randeep plays the enigmatic Raja Ravi Verma, the flamboyant pioneering painter who was a visionary, apart from being a great admirer of the female form.

Then there is 'Mere Khawabon Mein Jo Aaye' where he plays the ultimate ladies man and a woman's fantasy. A kind of man every woman would want, and every man would want to be. In this one, he essays 18 different characters including Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Humphry Bogart, James Bond and Zorro, to name a few.

Last but not the least, is 'Love Khichdi', where Randeep is paired opposite seven actresses. Here, he plays a testosterone driven young chef, confused about love and out to experiment with (or rather, discover) a variety of ladies.

So will the pre-publicity of these films be affected because of this accident? "Randeep is thrice as passionate about his work as he is about horses.

I don't think he will leave any stone unturned to see that his films don't suffer because of this mishap, " says Bhagwagar. "Randeep has a never-say-die spirit and attitude.

Don't be surprised if he lands at the premieres of his films in crutches, a wheelchair or whatever intriguing support he gets, even while his fracture is healing. Its not that easy to stop a guy like Randeep, " he adds.
