"For the first time we are hosting a television show and we wanted to be sure that it's a well-laid out format and presentation. This show is very close to our hearts. Not only are we anchoring it, but we have also designed the sets keeping the theme of the show in mind, " said Khosla in a press release.
Earlier, there was a buzz that the reclusive pair was about to host the talk show in August, but the project was delayed.
From Bollywood celeb wives Jaya Bachchan, Gauri Khan, Suzanne Roshan, Manyatta Dutt, Adhuna Akhtar, Anupama Chopra, Tanya Deol, Kirron Kher to others like Maharani Padmini Devi, Nita Ambani, Neerja Birla and Usha Mittal - many will be seen on the show. They will talk about their private world and the challenges they face in being the wife of a successful man.
The celebrity husbands too will make an appearance on the show, which is being produced by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.
"The First Ladies with Abu Sandeep" will be aired on lifestyle channel NDTV Good Times from Jan 3. It will be telecast every Saturday at 10 p.m. and the first episode would have Nita Ambani as the guest.
This is not the first time that an Indian fashion designer has ventured into TV.
Manish Arora did a six-episode TV show called "Adventures of the Ladies Tailor" early this year for Discovery's lifestyle channel Travel and Living. His show gave viewers an insight into Arora's personal and social life apart from his quintessential style of designing.
