Deepa Mehta's latest movie ‘Bollywood Hollywood' is reported to have crossed the $1-million mark at the Canadian box office in less than a month after its release on October 25. ‘Bollywood Hollywood' is a romantic musical comedy featuring Rahul Khanna and model-turned-actress Lisa Ray in the lead roles.
According to the estimates given by film's distributor Mongrel Media, the film has already raked in a respectable 1.1 million dollars since its release. And the future prospects of the film are quite promising as it continues to be screened in 32 theatres across Canada. ‘Bollywood Hollywood' has been sold to 21 countries. The film, which will hit the theatres in US on Friday, will be released in India on December 27.
