He has done for the star what only a childhood friend can do. Whipping out one of his multiple-jets from his aerial stable Virmani has lent his luxury 17-seater jet to his friend and his team of Chandni Chowk To China to facilitate their whirlwind 4-city North European-British premieres beginning with Los Angeles on Thursday.
More than the jet, which Virmani says belongs to Akshay anytime he wants it, it's the entirely revamped outer surface of the cc2c aircraft which carries the logo of the film Chandni Chowk To China and pictures of Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar, that has bowled Akshay over.
Apparently when Akshay saw the way his friend's private airfract had been modified to suit the posh premiere's purposes he broke down and wept.
Says Virmani, "I really don't want to say much on this. But yes, Akshay did get very emotional when he saw what I had done to my jet.
I think Chandni Chowk To China is a very special film. And lending one of my jets for the purpose is a very small token of my happiness.
Out here in Toronto where I've my main business the film is so strong. People have been constantly calling to ask for passes to the premiere. I've been with Akshay from the time he was the Khiladi. I'm very proud of him."
The cc2c 17-seater jet which is part of Virmani's 30-plus fleet of private aircrafts is a luxury aircraft meant for long-distance travel.
It will carry Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Deepika Padukone, Nikhil Advani, Ajay Virmani and senior members of Warner Brothers' production from Los Angeles on Thursday night to New York and Toronto for the premieres there, followed by London.
Akshay and Twinkle's son Aarav was unable to accompany his dad for the American and British premieres.
