Amitabh Bachchan, the most admired actor in Bollywood, will get to act in a Rs. 650 million Bollywood-Hollywood co-production, which will be directed by Ramgopal Varma. The film, to be partly produced by Devdas producer Bharat Shah, will also star Ajay Devgan in the supporting role. Some top actors from Hollywood are also likely to act in the film.
While Varma had expressed his wish to work with Big B some time back, he signed the Bollywood icon only after getting the go-ahead nod from Shah. Raju Patel, who has co-produced Kaante, will be one of the project`s international producers.
The yet-to-be-titled film will be an international political thriller that will star Bachchan in a stellar role, believed to have been written keeping the superstar in mind.Varma is planning to launch the film in June-July 2003, after he is through with his current project Bhoot which also stars Devgan in the leading role. The technical crew of the film will be from Hollywood and the movie will be shot in five countries, including India and Pakistan.
