The Supreme Court Thursday permitted Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt to extend his visit abroad by two weeks.

An apex court bench of Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and P. Sathasivam allowed Sanjay Dutt to stay abroad till the first week of March to attend a UN function on malnutrition as the brand ambassador.

Currently on bail, pending disposal of his appeal in the Supreme Court against his conviction for possessing illegal firearms in the run up to the Mumbai serial bombings in 1993, Dutt cannot go abroad without the permission of the apex court.
