Preity Zinta has a million-watt smile. But that certainly isn`t the only reason why directors and filmgoers swear by her. It`s her total commitment to every screen role she essays that separates her from her contemporaries.

Farhan Akhtar`s Lakshya, which should roll in January next year, has Zinta in the lead opposite Hrithik Roshan, who plays a newly married soldier called to perform his duties during the Kargil War.

While Hrithik will be training with Army jawans for three months in order to get into the skin of the character, Preity would have to interact with wives of Army officers as part of her homework. This carefree actress, who creates a riot with her uninterrupted jabber wherever she goes, is absolutely earnest when it comes to preparing for roles. It would be great to see exactly how much of the exposure she internalises for the screen portrayal.
