Sameera Reddy appears to have gone in for a complete makeover having lost a lot of weight off late. Her transformation however is for a film she is doing with Nagesh Kukunoor titled, Yeh Hausla.

"Nagesh wanted me to lose a lot of weight for the role of a grass cutting Rajasthani woman. My slightly bulky frame wouldn't have fit the character of a poor woman.

Though there was not much pressure from him about arriving at a particular weight, I ended up losing almost 7 kilos. See my weight in general showed on my frame and he wanted me to have that thin look but it worked in my favor because most of the heroines have that thin look nowadays." Sameera tells us.

The dusky actress admits that she was never in for the thin look and always believed in looking voluptuous and sexy. But this seems to have changed.

She admits, "After working out I felt good. And now I am taking great care not to get anymore weight again. In fact I am loving this new thin me."

Sameera's two elder sisters Meghana and Sushma Reddy have been well known models. Did their advice come in handy to lose weight?

"You know to tell you the truth it is they who have always been taking advice from me on weight gain. I have always been a plump kid and they have been on the thinner side right from childhood. They are used to eating 10 meals a day and still managing to remain slim." reveals Sameera.

Though she has been working out at the gym since the age of 16, Sameera says more than looking slim it is more about being fit nowadays. She is now also trying to turn vegetarian.

"Since my mother is a Manglorean and my father is from Assam we are natural fish eaters. But I am turning vegetarian because I feel it's a healthy option."

Speaking more about Yeh Hausla, Sameera tells us, "Nagesh has always come out with great female characters in his films. The film has been shot entirely in Rajasthan, around 2 kilometers away from Jodhpur.

It was a tough role for me as he expected me to look, walk and eat like a Rajasthani woman. I had to carry a ghunghat on my head all the time and since I have been born and bred in the city it was tough.

Nagesh made me wear the ghunghat even when I was not shooting in fact it was almost like my second skin. But I feel he has done a brilliant job with this one. The film is complete now and I am really looking forward to its release."
