She's said, "I feel settled in life and at peace with myself. Life changed after Dev D, but I am not keen on commercial cinema or any rat race of such sort. Mumbai is a place of change right now. We are seeing some fascinating alternative cinema today."
And her unconventional looks are but natural which doesn't fit into the normal scheme of things in B-Town. It's because she's an Indian-born girl of French parents. She's multilingual actress and has been educated at Goldsmiths College in London.
In fact, thanks to her different looks, she's been rejected for parts from mainstream producers before ‘Dev D' happened.
Now that she doesn't have too much work in hand, she's been attending and walking the ramp at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, in which she played a small part last year too (not many recognized her then).
She's pleased that the clothes she walked on suited her personal style.
She's said, "I attended the fashion week last year. I did a hair show, but it was very low profile. I enjoyed the experience this year walking for Preeti S Kapoor. The clothes were very bohemian, a lot like my personal style."
Same goes for her live-in relationship with Anurag Kashyap which has raised a few eyebrows but she's cool about it.
She's added, "Anurag and I are very similar individuals. We're both very artistic and unconventional. And also very much like outsiders — I never completely fitted into India due to my looks and he's a Bollywood director but never goes by the rulebook. Also, I enjoy his honesty and sincerity."
This girl seems to be very happy with her one of a kind way of life. Very interesting, indeed.
