"Is 40 really a special age to be ? I don't feel anything special. It's like any other day. I shot the entire day. No celebrations, nothing that I don't do normally."
Nudge him a little more, and Ajay admits there was a family get-together. "My entire family, my parents, sister, brother-in-law my wife and daughter were all together for a dinner. But that's something I do every time I get the chance. Yes, there was a cake. But I didn't cut it. My daughter did."
Life at 40 for Ajay means more work. "All the Best, the comedy directed by Rohit Shetty that I'm producing, is currently being shot. So I was busy shooting that. For me there's no life as satisfying as work and family."
Ajay will be directing a film later this year. "It will be a dark comic thriller. And no, there will be no Kajol in it. For those who want to see us together there's the animation film Toonpur Ka Super-hero."
Ajay admits the animation film is taking longer than expected. "But that isn't because of recession. Animation is a very time-taking process. It needs lots of patience."
Any new promises to keep at 40? "None! I feel physically and creatively fitter at 40 than I did at 30. The only new resolution is to devote more time to my blog. It has been renovated. I had been neglecting it. But now I intend to devote time regularly to it.Otherwise everything is the same. I still refuse to work with those I don't like."
