THE FILM

Come on. Now jusssst commmmm onnnnn! Kuch bhi movie banaoge kya? Just because your dad allowed you to hold a handycam for a couple of days and all of a sudden there is this collective intellectual bankruptcy that happened to actors world over who consented to be a part of this film, how could a filmmaker (?) still be allowed to make a film like Karma Aur Holi (the word 'confessions', which was originally a part of the title, somehow disappeared in the years that it took for the film to come out from the cold storage to the big screen).

Of course, the film stayed on at theatres for less than 1% of the time that it went in it's making and is now ready to torture you in your very own living room.

Come on. Now jusssst commmmm onnnnn! This one has to be one of the most blatant faux pas that one would ever see in a movie.

For an English movie with quite a few international artists, the last 3 odd minutes of the film suddenly sees everyone beginning to talk in Hindi. Sushmita Sen mouthing words in Hindi still seems OK but how about this Afro-American guy?

And then there is this 'holi' track which plays alongside which is a clear case of an after thought tune. Reason? The artists are lip synching to an altogether different song and dancing to different beats while on the other hand apna yeh gaana chale jaa raha hai, chale jaa raha hai!

Come on. Now jusssst commmmm onnnnn! Why would someone begin talking about their sexual escapades in front of absolute strangers when they very well know ki ghar jaake bahaut maar padegi?

Ok, so it's a game of truth and dare being played at the mansion/farm house/qila/palace (whatever you may want to term it as!) of Randeep Hooda and Sushmita Sen where to 'pass time', each one of those 10 odd guests start talking about their hidden secrets.

Koyi provocation nahi, koyi zabardasti nahin, bas sab shuru ho gaye! So while one buxom lady went on to state that she was a lesbian (oops, that broke my heart!), another man went on to talk about an apparently funny incident (at which only he laughed) about his failed attempt at love making!

Come on. Now jusssst commmmm onnnnn! Because this particular 'secret' is going to get an uproarous laughter.

Reason? Suresh Oberoi comes up with one the hammiest scenes of his three decades or so career when he tells his wife - 'Aah, oooh, I have been living with a killer. Aah, oooh'.

Reason? Well, seriously if you want, then find it out for yourself if you will. Thankfully, he walks away from the party scene forcing Randeep to make the most intelligent statement of the decade - 'Ok guys, let's call this party over'. Come on. Yes, jusssst commmmm onnnnn! Because due to these golden words mouthed by Randeep, audiences are spared of any more secrets coming out and the movie comes to an (expected) abrupt end.

A 'holi' song comes out of nowhere, superstar Vikram Chatwal makes a very, very, very special appearance (as a celebrity DJ) with one close up, two medium shots and three long shots to his credit, one marriage breaks, another survives and it's time for bye-bye to confessions and 'welcome' for whatever other DVD one can lay hands on.
