Football super star Baichung Bhutia has been the dark horse of this year's Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. Nobody expected this
lanky 32 year old from Sikkim to reach the semi finals of this prestigious Sony dance reality show.
"I give full
credit to my choreographer Sonia." He also accepted that, "in the beginning expressions were a major problem but I
have over come that to a certain extent. As I have never danced before it's a big achievement to have even reached so
far".
The skipper of the Indian national football squad feels that lack of funding is one of the main reasons why football has
not found its due place in country, " If I do reach the final, it will show that people do love other games apart from
cricket as well".
He justifies the absence of any controversies by saying, "Dance is not my bread and butter and I don't hope to become
a professional dancer or do an item number after the event.
If I win good, but if I don't I will still go back to my
first love i.e Football. So why say anything bad about anybody. I am here to have fun and learn some dance in the
bargain."
Baichung who does not get sufficient time to practice due to his foot ball commitments does not feel bad when judges
pin points his flaws, "It's not about my football so it's cool. One of the high point of Jhalak till date has been getting the
money from Sarojji, " he ends.
