She has got the zing, she is courageous and on top of that she is beautiful. Yes, we are talking about Preity Zinta. She stuck to her guns when everyone caved in to the pressure from the Bhai. But is she scared scared now, not at all. She is alive more than ever. She is seen cracking jokes, laughing and pulling fast ones on her co-stars on the sets.
She also isn`t one to shy away from calling a spade a spade. And she wouldn't think twice before stepping into another actress' shoes if she finds the role interesting enough. But if there's anything this spunky actress is mortally afraid of, it is the outdoor shoots in a foreign land. Why? "Because I kind of find it funny," she says. "Imagine dancing on the roads in London or a city in Australia to our tapori songs..." her voice breaks as uncontrollable laughter stops her from continuing coherently. Now that she is in a position to demand and even dictate terms, there have been times when she has appealed to the producer to either shoot the songs in India or scrap them.
Needless to say, her requests have fallen on deaf ears. But frankly, for one who has done it all previously it does sound a bit hypocritical. Why don't you admit that we are an exclusive nation and have a distinctive style of filmmaking and that our songs and dance sequences are one of a kind too, Preity? And once you have committed yourself to doing the regular fare of masala movies, why should dancing in the open be anything to be ashamed of?
