/> Colours and seasons have a powerful effect on our moods and the way we perceive things. So powerful is this effect that we have developed colour-related expressions describing our moods, such as "feeling blue" to describe feeling a bit down, "In a black mood" suggests we are mean and angry, "green with envy" speaks for itself, and "seeing red" describes being furious!

The reason we have developed these expressions is because colour itself really does affect our mood and sometimes it does affect ones makeover. A makeover can be just the boost in confidence every woman needs at some time in her life.

Whether you are a student, a career woman or a house wife, all women benefit from taking time out to indulge themselves with a great new look. And so drastic are the effects that even a scary looking Adah Sharma of 1920 tempts you with her new bright and cheerful change.

"A new you is the easiest way to have a fresh and optimistic outlook about life", says Adah. Devansh Patel caught up with the beautiful actress at her Pali Hill residence where everything seemed bright, her mood, her outfit and her room.

So before the monsoon hits our city now, Adah shows her true colours in a bright new makeover just as summer approaches its grand finale. Over to the true chameleon.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear 'pink'?
Bubble gum. That's what comes to my mind.

Do you think pink can be termed as sexy?
Without doubt, pink is a wonderfully sexy colour and generates a feeling of gentle warmth and nurturing. It lessens feelings of anger and irritability, surrounding us with a sense of love and protection. Pink also helps to reduce feelings of loneliness, unhappiness and vulnerability.

Pink is also connected with the zodiac sign of Aquarius and the planet of Venus, named after the Roman Goddess of Love. I can even chew a bubble gum and look sexy.

Can men carry off pink well?
I don't believe in people when they say that men can't carry off pink. I've seen a lot of men who really look good in pink. If you're confident about your sexuality, I'm sure you can pull the colour pink off pretty well. It depends on your attitude when you wear any colour.

What have you got in your wardrobe that is pink?
Rubber bands, shoe laces, hair bands, two tops and a pink kurta. I wore a pink dress during my first press conference to promote 1920. I also have the Bryan Adams song 'Pink is my favourite colour' (laughs). Though my favourite Bryan Adams number is 'Please forgive me'.

You wear seasonal colours then?
Yes. I wear light coloured clothes during summer but because monsoon is not one of my favourite seasons, I like wearing bright colours to brighten up the gloomy, dull and grey backdrop.

Does a pink describe your mood?
Not at all. Pink isn't my type of colour. The new colours which describe my mood are yellow and purple. They go well together.

Do you consider yellow as spiritual in nature?
Yes I do. But I don't know much about the spirituality and the colour connection. Yellow means joy and happiness and people who are usually blind to other colours can often see yellow.

Yellow is the colour that is associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra. It deals with ones identity. When you entered my room I showed you my yellow polka dotted bikini which I wore when I was a toddler. It's my favourite colour since then.

The yellow dress you're wearing in your photo shoot adds a lot of style to your image.
Yes. I picked up that dress from a shop called 'And'. I believe that if there is any colour I can carry off easily, it's yellow because it's bright, vivacious; it's fun and flirty too. Cheerful too. Angelina Jolie wore a black and a yellow dress at the last year's BAFTA Awards where she looked a hottie along with hubby Brad in black and white suit.

Is green the most important colour in our life.
Not really. Green is envious. But yes, we eat lots of green vegetables and salad. I am a vegetarian. So I eat green four times a day. But sometimes I can be as hot as a green chilly (laughs). My favourite green food item is peas. I love eating mushy peas and many a times my favourite, crisps with peas. It's a weird combo but it's delicious.

From your entire makeover, which picture relates to your personality?
The one in the green dress where I am seen standing and showing a bit of my legs. That's the real Adah Sharma because the real me would not have pulled the skirt higher exposing my legs. A little bit is left on imagination.

Any actor who impressed you in a green dress?
I remember Julia Roberts wearing a green dress in Pretty Woman. She carried a whole lot of other colours too but green looked sensual when she wore it.

Have you ever gone colour blind?
No, I haven't. But I've got a friend who is colour blind and she can't even decide between the shades of yellow. Quite strange. I've researched that 97.3% population of the world dream in black and white. But I dream in colour. But when I was young, I came to know that all animals are colour blind.

Bees do not get attracted by the colour of the flowers and the bull does not attack the matador because it sees a red cloth. We humans should be very lucky because we've got the rods and cones in our eyes because of which we can differentiate colours.

If you were a colour, which one would you be?
I'd pick white because it reflects all the seven colours. I'm a very giving person when I wear white.
