48th Filmfare night belonged to Rekha and she didn`t disappoint any of her fan either. The dusky beauty from the south won the Lifetime Achievement Award. Though she is nearly 50 plus but she still managed to turn some heads. Her five-page speech of thanks, included the endless list of actors, producers and directors, showing gratitude with the careful, obvious and deliberate omission of the greatest name she ought to thank her life for – you guessed it – the Big B! All those who`ve known their alliance, have a lot to pass on as canards about the megastar`s obsession to play Prof Higgins to this South Indian`s coarse manners.

Agreed, she is a legend and rightfully deserves the award. But what was she trying to prove anyway? That she could do without the greatest influence in her life? Or that she has moved on and couldn't care less about his current status? If only she knew that while she made the long winding speech, presenters, Saif Ali Khan, Shahukh and the visibly uncomfortable Hrithk Roshan squirmed on stage, and that Jaya Bachchan found better company in both politician Amar Singh and industrialist wife, Tina Ambani.
