'Grand, Grander, Grandest'- three words that aptly describe the seventh anniversary issue of the fashion
magazine L'Officiel. And gracing the cover is none other than the young Bachchans Abhishek and Shweta,
both of whom look classier and elegant than ever before!
Shweta, in her own words, admits, "I was
more comfortable doing this shoot, than the first one (September 2006)". While Abhishek confesses, "I've
never done so many changes in my life. And this is the longest photo shoot I have ever been a part
of!"
The issue is indeed a collector's item in itself. With each and every page talking volumes about the traits and
behaviour that's so very Bachchan!
Even though the article takes a sizeable chunk of the magazine
pages, it serves as a real refresher than your regular ones. As they say, this mag is a real must-buy. Skip it
at your own risk.
The issue is special in many ways than one. It not only features the stylish Abhishek Bachchan, but also the
till-now reclusive Shweta Nanda (nee Bachchan) in one of their coolest yet classiest interviews ever.
It has the celebrity sibling talk about love and dedication for each other, which stays strong even today,
irrespective of them having caught up in their professional and personal lives.
While on this, a
special mention goes to the 'hands' and 'brains' behind this dream shoot. They are none other than the
doyens of the glam industry, namely, Fashion Director Ami Patel, Consulting Editors Abu Jani and Sandeep
Khosla.
With Abhi-Shweta getting dressed up in Louis Vuitton, the aforementioned duo brings life to
the fairytale like Belvoir Castle in UK's Leicestershire County.
Abhishek, on his own admission, says "We've (Shweta and him) always grown up together, we've always
been to the same schools, same college, we shared a room and everything... We can fight like cats and
dogs, but we're intensely protective of each other.
And I know that there's a great amount of love".
He also goes onto add, "When we were growing up, it was just the four of us (Big B, Jaya, Shweta and him)
and we were very, very insular.
We've always known that for the unique position that we were in, it
was only the four of us who could understand that situation in totality. And because our parents are who they
are, we've always trusted each other more than anybody else."
Talking about the changes post marriage, Abhishek says "I think that there was more change till I got
married. I feel that after I got married, it went back to being like what it was before Shweta di got
married."
And about his shoot with Shweta di, he says, "It was weird. We've done one or two photo
shoots before when we were kids and that too, with our parents which was around 15-16 years ago!"
Given Abhishek's penchant for perfection for words, it does not come as a surprise to see this man go on a
freewheeling tete-a-tete with the interviewer of the magazine!
One has to read Abhi's take on Shweta
not being the 'only' girl in his life. We wish we could spill the beans but if we do that, it would simply take the
excitement out of reading this issue!
Also, another must read part is Abhi's' future plans, whereby
he reveals his plans to start a family!
