Bipasha rejoices over sexy siren image
Fast establishing herself as the sexy siren, Bengal born Bipasha Basu is rising high on the Bollywood graph. Behind her success is the considerable contribution of her nicely chiselled figure, coupled with abundant exposure of her body on the big screen. She had entered the industry with "Ajnabi" but made her mark with "Raaj" and "Jism." Bipasha successfully mixed her sex appeal with talent in "Gunah" and "Chor Machaye Shor". Never mind the slight squint in her eyes! Excerpts from an interview:
Q. In "Jism" it you only who exposed your body, no one else. How did you feel about it?
Ans. Initially, I was double minded about taking up Puja Bhatts' "Jism" as my role appeared to be negative. I knew, most of the actresses would refuse the offer as it involved lot of body display. But then; I decided to take up the challenge. You need to look at the movie in totality. It is not only sexy display of my body but lots more to my role as an actress. I have enjoyed doing it. .
Q. So you don't think that "Jism" carried lot of bodywork, I mean exposure?
Ans. In "Jism" love has been portrayed in the real context. It is an adult love story. I feel that not nudity but love has been allowed to have a fair play in the movie. Viewers having sense of married life would appreciate the movie in its love and emotional form. My role, which was of a different kind, has been much liked by the audiences. And I am happy about it. .
Q. You had once commented that for "Jism" you had tortured your body too much. What does that mean?
Ans. Yes I said that. You would not believe that I had carried on with the shooting schedules even when I was suffering with 104 degrees temperature. My entire body was aching but I continued to shoot. Those very scenes have proved to be fruitful. .
Q. You are being termed as sexy siren. How do you feel about the title?
Ans. Tell me which of the heroines is not taking the help of her sexy image to rise up the ladder. I know I am sexy and if my fans like me that way, where's the harm. I am happy that my sexy image is pulling crowds to me. .
Q. Your hot affairs are being talked about...?
Ans. I do not bother about such rumours. In the beginning I used to feel upset. It is a tradition with the industry to link anyone's name to anybody. .
Q. These days John Abrahm seems to be attracting your attention more, rather than Dino. Is it true?
Ans. Dino is still a good friend of mine. And in John I have a deep-rooted friendship and understanding. Moreover, these are my personal matters, why should I be discussing these with the media. .
Q. Some contemporary heroines are bitching about you...?
Ans. Let them talk whatever they want to talk about me. I know one thing for sure that very few movies of my contemporaries are succeeding at the box office, whereas in my case more than half of my movies are doing roaring business. This satisfies me the most. .
Q. Tell us about your new upcoming films.
Ans. I am pretty optimistic about director Manishankar's "Rudraksh." Besides, "Nehle Pe Dehla," Etbaar", "Mian Anadi Biwi Khiladi" and "Jane Kya Hoga" are also going to arrive with great hopes.
