Kambakkht Ishq, is aptly described as Kambakkht Hit, and has lived up to its title; with the film garnering a whooping
Rs. 100 crores in the first week itself. Akshay, however, insists that he is happy being a clown and not the king of box-
office.
"I am happy being in the circus ring rather than the King's Throne. I would never want to take the weight
of the King's crown, " he said.
Akshay obviously is having the last laugh.
Akshay added, "I have full faith in my fans and my audience. As far as KI is concerned, no matter what the critics had to
say, my fans showed that they had faith in me. They had faith in my talent. The film's success proves it. "
"Eros International, the official distributors of Kambakkht Ishq confirmed that the film had fetched Rs. 100 crores in the
first weekend. A source from the production house said, "The film has grossed Rs. 70 crores (Rs. 700 million) in India
and Rs. 21 crores (Rs. 210 million) overseas. And the music and digital rights of the movie have fetched Rs. 10 crores
(Rs. 100 million)"
