Bobby Bedi has finally thrown his lot behind Amir Khan whom he has signed for mega budget film 1857: The rising. Actually, the producer-director was initially unable to choose from Sharukh Khan and Amir Khan . But then finally the choice went in the favour of Amir who had enough free time as he had not signed any movie in the last 2 years. Amir would get Rs 5 crore for his role.

The shooting has begun and is likely to be completed in next 6 months. Earlier, Amir was also signed by Shekhar Kapoor for his film "Time Machine" alongwith Naseerudin Shah, Rekha, and ravishing Ravina Tandon. The lead was assigned to Amir Khan but then the movie did not take off at all from the planning and signing stage. Amir is learnt to have rejected the offer of John Mathew for his "Sarfrosh" though the latter waited for two long year for Amir to get free for the job. Amir is definitely in demand.
