"I don't really believe in luck but I do believe that I am very blessed with some of the most wonderful experiences in life I've had. I'm born in a wonderful family. I've got some of the best friends and consider them lucky (laughs)."
Multi-tasking
"My entry into Bollywood isn't about me doing multitasking in terms of singing and then acting, no. Honestly, for me, there are practical applications which apply to both but apart from that both are artistic and make me happy.
I don't feel different from each other in terms of how it makes me feel. Singing and acting, both of them give me the same amount of satisfaction in a different way. There are certain things you never feel on camera like the way you feel on stage and vice versa."
Childhood
"I am pretty adventurous a person in real life. For the most part of my life, I've been known as a tomboy. As a child and even while I was growing up, I never thought about Bollywood or Hollywood. I just knew one thing that is to entertain people."
Kamal Haasan
"I've watched his films like everybody else and I've admired his performances. I remember him telling me that acting is not something that can be taught. It is something that you have to learn to feel. That's the only thing you do.
What I've gathered by watching him act is that he has this amazing level of commitment and he truly enjoys his job. It doesn't matter what you do after that because you're having so much fun doing it."
One trip pony
"Luck isn't going to be a one trip pony. You will be seeing a lot more of me in time to come. I'm going to be sticking around in Bollywood for quite some time."
Singing career
"I'm going to take my singing career very seriously because I've spent many years doing that. Singing is something that can never take a back seat for me. Yes, at this juncture it is all about time management."
Going Tan
"While shooting for Luck I had become tan. I love a nice tan but this wasn't a nice one. I started to look terrible. People weren't recognising me."
Success:
"It is always lovely to get that recognition. Entering the glamour business is an amazing feeling. It is wonderful that people appreciate your work. The problem arises when those hundreds of camera clicks and all of this becomes a reason you are here. The reason you are in this field is not just for adulation but for an understanding and a connection with your audience. Success isn't really an important thing for me."
New Kid on the Block
"All the girls love Imran. I've known Imran since we were ten year olds. We've known each other for a long time. He is a very good friend and it's always nice to be working with a friend whom you've known since childhood.
Many of my other friends tell me that Imran looks so hot that I should be lucky working with a hot star like him. But honestly, I've never looked at Imran with the intention of getting attracted to him. But I'm very happy for him for where he is today. As a kid, Imran was very considerate."
Lucky entry
"I was supposed to do another film before Luck but certain things are just meant to fall in a pattern and for some reason it didn't work out. Very suddenly I was in a middle of considering three scripts at a time. I have to say this; that a long time back I had decided that I'll be landing myself into an acting career as well.
But it was Imran who insisted me to hear the script of Luck and told me that I'll be good for the part. I readily agreed and met Soham. At first, I was a bit concerned and then it didn't take too much time to know that I'll be a part of Luck."
Physical attributes
"People are wonderful and not to forget, I am a girl. When I am showered with commitments, I do feel nice. I haven't got a specific compliment complimenting my looks or my hair or my body or my height. The first one is you, so thank you (laughs)."
Shake a leg
"I've danced my whole life. I've always enjoyed dancing very much. When you're a part of a rock band, per se, it's difficult to incorporate dance all the time. But I feel dancing is a connection to your mind and body.
It's only in the last four or five years that I've been really out of it doing different things. When it was time for 'Jee Le', all of my dancing experience just came back. The sense of enjoying what you're doing hit me and I danced like never before for that song."
South African Fish and Steak
"I loved South Africa, especially Cape Town. It's a beautiful city with even more beautiful people. The food was just incredible. We had the best fish out there, like the 'lime fish'. There was this one place out there, the name which I can't recall now; where I got the best Steak I've ever eaten in my entire life."
Recalling London
"My last memories of London are quite difficult to remember. I was in London with my family when I was a kid. We had a great time out there. People complain a lot about the gloomy weather of London but I personally love it. It is very beautiful and poetic.
Michael Jackson
"With all due respect, people live and people die. Nobody expects Michael Jackson to be immortal. But what is immortal is the wonderful art he has put out there for us. He was a brilliant performer. We do wish he was around for more to perform but hey, that's life. I am glad he was around in the first place."
Favourite Rock song, Michael Jackson number and Kamal Haasan film
"My favourite rock number is 'We will Rock You' by Queen. That song has so much energy. My favourite Michael Jackson song is 'Billy Jean' and the all time favourite film of my father I can keep on watching is Pushpak."
Lucky co-stars
"Everyone knows what a wonderful actor Mithunda is. I ended up learning a lot while watching him. Working with Sanjay Dutt was also amazing. He is a coolster and a complete rock star. Danny sir is my favourite. He is a unique person and an actor.
What I learnt the most is, no matter how much they all have achieved in life, they are all humble human beings which are rare to find and a true pleasure to be around with. Chitrashi is a live wire. She has a never say die attitude towards life. Her energy is infectious and her enthusiasm is contagious."
