Raveena`s first ever home production `Stumped` is already in soup before it`s release due to controversy about plagiarism. Raveena has been accused by an Indian college student, D. Sajeev, for stealing the story idea for ‘Stumped' from an article written by him for a Malayalam daily newspaper in the year 1999.Sajeev also claims that the actress had herself stated in an interview that she was motivated to make the movie after reading an article in a newspaper.

The student is believed to have officially lodged a complaint concerning copyright violation and the judge has ordered Raveena, as well as the director of Stumped, to respond to the allegations within fifteen days. Set in the times of Kargil war, ‘Stumped' tells the story of a woman who is awaiting her husband's return from the battlefront even as the cricket crazy fans of her colony celebrate the team's victory.
