All his recent films fell flat at the BO and people started questioning Manoj's viability as a commericial actor. One thing he has been able to salvage, inspite of his dipping career graph, is his attitude. He still thinks he is 'hot and happening'. Director Pankaj Parasher got the shock of his life when the last schedule of his under production film, Inteqam, loosely based on Hollywood's Basic Instinct, got delayed due to Bajpai's tantrums.

Bajpai rues the fact that not a single song in the film has been filmed on him, whereas the two female leads, Nethra Raghuraman and Isha Kopikkar have three songs each. The film is about a married man's one nightstand that leads to a marital discord.
