Amisha ruptures Bollywood myth, shuns BF
Amisha Patel has ruptured the great Bollywood myth. She has proved that no Godfather is need to make a mark in the filmdom, if you have talent. She has risen like a rocket propelled by some special fuel for traversing the skies unknown. On not having a boy friend, she has her own views. Excerpts from an interview:
Q. You were signed for "Hero." But, why did you leave it?
Ans. I get films because of my capabilities and I work as per my convenience. I very much wanted to do "Hero" with Sunny and Anil Sharma but they asked me give dates for three continuous months, which was not possible. So I quit. I believe in capability and capacity. Just see before "Gaddar" where was Anil Sharma or the production house J.P.V. which made it. .
Q. Why are you delaying "Sunno Sasur Ji"?
Ans. Oh my God! Who am I to delay it? I do not know who is spreading these rumours. Actually, there was some problem with the production house. I hate movies being delayed. I like companies like "Venus" where everything is on time and perfect. They plan their movies well and finish them accordingly. For your information, "Sunno Sasur Ji" is now complete. .
Q. Your film "Mere Jiwan Saathi" is ready for release. Did Karisma's role make you feel small?
Ans. There is nothing of that sort. I have learnt a lot from Karisma. She has had lot of experience and I wanted to know if I could work successfully with an established heroine? .
Q. Do you get professional satisfaction with whatever work you have done?
Ans. I had never thought that filmmaking was business. I was of the view that it was all about creativity. But, now I know that it is a business, one had to work as per the rules of business. Initially, I had been talking aloud about my conditions...I will do this...I will not do that.... But it was my foolishness to impose conditions. No one can put prior conditions in Bollywood, everything happens in accordance with business rules, which keep on evolving. .
Q. When you find people around competing hard, do feel like taking inspiration from them?
Ans. No. My reaction is different. I sometimes feel, why did I come here? But then I know I could have not been happier anywhere else. I can work in difficult situations too. Many other businesses must be having greater competition than in Bollywood. And, they must also be having lot of politics. So is it here. Chalta hai! .
Q. You are in film industry for the last three years. Now, you must be knowing how to chose a movie?
Ans. The truth is that I never select movies on the basis of money offered. I had always wanted to become a good heroine. And, if producers want to pay me more, I have no objection to increase my bank balance. I am known as Amisha Patel. That is my brand. I am happy about it. .
Q. Are you happy by the speed and manner in which your career is moving?
Ans. I have got much more than I expected. I launched myself with super-hit movie "Kaho Na Pyar Hai." I got a chance to work with people like Anil Sharma, Vikram Bhatt, Tanuja Chander and David Dhawan. I have every reason to be happy. .
Q. How much normal it is to be without a boy friend?
Ans. Now days more and more women have converged to the view that boy friend is not needed just to feel good. It is normal not to have a boy friend because women need to learn that they do not require a boy friend for evaluating themselves.
