Suchitra Krishnamoorthi has revealed that she experienced the casting couch while struggling to get a break in Bollywood.

The actor says that though she managed to escape, the incident left a scar. Suchitra, the former wife of noted filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, made her debut in 1994 with ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa'.

She described the "scary'' incident in her blog, which occurred when she was still in her teens trying to make a career in the film industry.

"I remember many years ago, I had gone to meet a very successful producer about a film role at a plush suburban hotel. They were looking for a new face to launch, '' the actor wrote.

After a discussion about academics, family and work experience, the producer asked Suchitra to call her father to tell him that she was spending the night with him at the hotel and that he should pick her up in the morning, the actor said in her blog.
