Neha Marda aka Gehna of Sphere Origins Balika Vadhu goes down the memory lane and fondly remembers
her school days and her favorite teachers on Teachers' Day.
I did my schooling from Birla's Sunshine School in Kolkata. Ratna Ghosh was one of the teachers whom I
really admired and respected. She was very adorable and intellectual. She taught us English literature and
was also our head mistress.
I shared a very warm relationship with her. She was one teacher who made me cry a lot. I was punished a
number of times by her.
What I hated about her was that she made me stand in one corner of the
classroom, which used to be very embarrassing. But I always tried to be in her good books and so did my
studies properly to please her. In the process to impress her, I became really good student of English
literature.
But now that she is no more I just want to say that Madam I warmheartedly remember you on every teachers
day.
The other teacher I can never forget is Shomik Chatterjee. He was my computer teacher and also my first
crush. I was in cIass 5 then.
I was so possessive about him that no other girl in the class dared to
talk anything nonsense about him. I had this feeling that he belongs to me. But my dreams were shattered
when he got married to a fellow teacher 2 years later. I heard lots of sad songs to overcome my dejection.
But Neha makes it a point to visit her school whenever she goes to Kolkata. I love to visit my school and talk
to the students there. All my once teacher have become granny now. It feels good to meet your teachers
after you become something. Even they feel proud to see their students' success.
