Anurag Kashyap and Danny Boyle's next film, Bombay Velvet, which stars Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan in the third
and first leads respectively, will have John Abraham playing the second lead.
John will be playing a real-life
hero of the masses in the film and is now working on changing his contemporary mannerisms for the film is set in the
1960s.
Anurag and John worked together on No Smoking. Even though the film didn't do well, they promised to work together on
another film.
That's when John was chosen for Bombay Velvet. Some people told John that Aamir had replaced
him but John knew the truth.
He was the only actor who took Anurag seriously when Anurag was still
struggling. So Anurag would never drop him. Anurag has even got some of the writers who criticized him for No Smoking
to join the Bombay Velvet team.
John has also reduced his fee for the role and Anurag is known to not charge
any money until the film does well. Looks like this will be one interesting film!
