A separatist group in Assam gave tough-time to a film unit during its making. A Film by The National Film Development
Corporation of India ‘As The River Flows' is a socio-political thriller that manifests the actual living condition in the state
under the influence of some revolutionary groups.
In reality, these revolutionary groups struggle for the
sovereign Assam by the means of an armed struggle and are declared terrorist by the government of India. One such
group in Assam went on to the extent of exploding bombs in the vicinity of the film sets to stop the film shoot.
"It is not very clear that the blast was to threaten us, but as the subject of the film revolves around such separatist group
and explosion took place nearby it was speculated by the officials as the warnings by such groups. Unit was given a
protection by the local force and was asked to be alert all the time," informs the source from the scene of incident.
Though the fear prevailed, they continued to shoot until the completion of the film, and the unit is now back
home safely. People who act in spite of their fear are truly brave!
