Another good release for Janamshtami, this album, as the title suggests, combines Krishna and Ram bhajans. Anuradha Paudwal and Suresh Wadkar are the singers here.
The highlight of the album is that the music has been composed by Ira Roshan, wife of yesteryear composer Roshan. Though she has been into composing for sometime, and has done some professional composing too, one of them being Anaida's song Oonchi neechi hai dagariya, her composing for this album is hyped now because she is the grandma of the nation's heart-throb Hrithik Roshan.Coming to the eight bhajans, all of them have been well tuned by Ira Roshan, who has taken care to make them listener-friendly. She has done away with the traditional, monotonous sound usually heard in bhajans, and instead come up with tunes which have a little pep, are a little racy, and convey revereance through a feeling of joie de vivre. A good change one must say.
Ravi Chopra's lyrics are interesting, narrating anecdotes about the life of Kishna and Ram. Paudwal sings Krishna bhajans, while Wadkar sings Ram bhajans and both do a great job. Ik din Kanhaiya bole, Ramji mere ghar aana, Chunar mori aisi rang de, Karo ri karo are the pick of the lot. Devouts can't miss this one.
