While most of the scribes are busy writing off Hrithik, papa Roshan is back with the Bollywood genre of Sci-fi named 'Koi Mil Gaya'. In coordination with Bimmini FX of Australia, Rakesh Roshan has stepped into the territory where no Mumbai film house has ever gone before.
Koi Mil Gaya features Hrithik as a mentally challenged young man Rohit. He is the son of talented scientist, Sanjay Mehra (Rakesh Roshan) and Sonia (Rekha). Sanjay has devoted his life to find the existence of extraterrestrial life. Including many innovative gadgets, he invents a computer which can send signals to the space. His dreams turns into reality when a spaceship is sighted in the sky.
Before Sanjay could savour the fruits of his success, he and his wife meet a horrible accident in which Sanjay dies. Rohit is born as a mentally challenged child who is ridiculed at every phase of his life. Nisha (Preity Zinta) is his only friend. One day Rohits spots his father's computer and invites Nisha to help him use it. Both of them mess around with the device without realising it's impact.
Before they could even realise what they've done, a weird spaceship appears in the sky following the total blackout in the city. Strange phenomenon is about to happen and how it will change their lives is the tale of Koi Mil Gaya. The music of the film is compsed by Rajesh Roshan, and has already hit the market.
Producer Director, Rakesh Roshan has hired the Hollywood bigwigs like Marc Kolbe and James Colmer for the special effects. Seen as the biggest release of 2003, Koi Mil Gaya is expected to hit the theaters in August.
