Amir is back in news after a long time. It is heard that he signed for '1857: The Rising' in which he'll be playing the the role of Mangal Pandey, for whopping 7 crores. It is the sepoy who sparked off India's First War of Independence in 1857. But what amazed everybody was that Aamir wanted all the money upfront, something unheard of in the industry. Such transactions are based on mutual trust and no actor would dare make such an outrageous demand. Payouts happen only in installments as the shooting progresses.

The producer of the film is shying away from discussing the money matters in public. Ketan Mehta who'll be directing the film says that Aamir was always the first choice for the lead role.He is undoubtedly one of the best performers in the industry and money is not an issue when it comes to working with him. Right now the actor is busy reading and gathering information about the era. The film also stars Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukherjee.
